The Humans

November 14 - 24

The Humans

Directed by Caleb Goodman

Breaking with tradition, Erik Blake has brought his Pennsylvania family to celebrate Thanksgiving at his daughter’s apartment in lower Manhattan. Over the course of this awkward and frequently hilarious Thanksgiving meal, tragic and painful truths are met with humor and love, in a performance the Chicago Tribune calls “a kind, warm, beautifully observed and deeply moving new play.”

The family play is American theater’s bread and butter — and most of its other meals, too. But what distinguishes “The Humans” is how well it works on a specific, naturalistic level, diagnosing the particular troubles of the Blakes (job loss, romantic betrayal, mental and physical illness), while also allowing the family to stand in for an unnerved nation.

Evening shows start at 8 pm, matinees start at 2 pm. Lobby opens one hour prior to performance.

Tickets are $23 (discounts and upgrades are available), and may be purchased via the ticketing link, or by calling the Opera House box office at (850) 997-4242.

A full cash or credit bar will be available, featuring premium beer, wine and cocktails.
